I've been trying to create a song for Von for a while now. I've done a couple for her over the years but this time I wanted to make one that incorporated the cello - something lyrical and pretty, slow moving but calm. Inspired by the impressionist artists she loves.

Needless to say this has been a difficult journey and I haven't gotten much beyond jamming on the cello to try and come up with something just by playing stuff until something random sounds good, and then recording it. But it's not come together yet.

One thing I'd like to do is put some lyrics to this song, but for it to be a new idea. The first song I wrote for Von was "Secret Ninja Powers", and it was more of a silly comedy song; this one should be more poetic to fit the impressionism theme.

Perhaps to go with the impressionist theme too, I simply describe some moments in time that I hold of Von - memories that have stuck with me. I can remain elliptical and try to evoke feelings rather than thoughts.
